根據四級英語大綱的閱讀技能要求和文章的特點以及題目設置的方式，可以將閱讀理解的題型分為以下十種類型，針對不同題目類型總結出十大解題技巧：
指代題
1. 題型特點指代題主要考察考生整體理解文章的能力，并推斷出該處指代詞所代表的含義。
2. 標志在題干中明確指出原文中某處的指代詞要求辨別其指代關系，常考的指代詞有it，that，one。
3. 做題關鍵返回原文定位該指代詞。
4. 做題步驟
(1) 返回原文找出該代詞所在的句子，并且仔細分析，正確理解該可話;
(2) 向上搜索，找出離該代詞最近的名詞、短語或句子，以之替換該代詞，看句子是否通順;
(3) 在四個選項中找出與所找到的名詞、短語或句子意思最接近的一個作為正確答案。
